Kangxi Period Wine Decanter

This pair of tall Chinese wine decanter was made during the Kangxi Period of the Qing Dynasty. It has motifs of Dragon and Phoenix on the top and bottom areas. It stands at 9 inches tall with a width of 5 inches.

Note the difference of the bottom bases of both decanters, being shaped like a male and female pair. The straight being a male and curvy one being a female.

Unusual Green Tea Pot

This unusual green tea pot captured my attention during an evening browse across a China man's flea market. I took a good stare at it as I could not understand the functions and usage of this tea pot that has no cover or lid on top to insert boiling water and tea leaves. You have to fill it beneath into a hole.

This top view shows an insect perching on this young bamboo shoot or tapioca plant.

I am unable to determine its production age but it is certainly heavy and old. I will get an expert's opinion to read the embossed stamp below. The height is 6 inches and the width is 8 inches.

The hole beneath puzzles me for many days with no answers. Could it be a tea pot to contain the soya sauce or black vinegar? I welcome your opinion.

My Most Favourite Bowl

I love this bowl the most in my entire collections. The colours are very rich, complete with finest details and delicately shaped motifs of heavenly phoenix birds flying amongst the various spring flowers in vivid colours. The dark blue background has fine Chinese patterns in gold lines while all the motifs are embossed beautifully. This bowl stands at 4.5 inches with a diameter measuring at 9 inches.

The origin of this bowl is from China, believed to be a Qing Dynasty's production as I am unable to read the stamp beneath at this moment. However, I guessed the popularity of such colourful motifs could be the works of Tang Dynasty's period. It could be a replica made during the Qing Dynasty period as the evident details of the aged production is there.

Yellow Porcelain Jar

This heavy weight Chinese porcelain jar was stamped below that it was made during the Qing Dynasty's reign of Emperor Kangxi (Year 1661 - 1722). The yellowish colored jar has drawings that show several butterfly motifs amongst the many watermelon fruits. The usage of the jar with cover lid was believed to be made for the storage purposes of dried or pickled melons or other fruits.

Qing Dynasty Plates

These beautiful Qing Dynasty porcelain plates were made during the reign of China's Emperor Guangxu (Year 1875 - 1908). They were obtained from Taichung, Taiwan ROC.
